DeCamillis and Mattingly Running for Our Four-Legged Friends!
At DeCamillis & Mattingly, we are all in for a good contest, especially for a
good cause, and especially Derby Week! We geared up for the Derby Festival Bed Races this year with our competition team of John DeCamillis, Rob Mattingly, Meghan Huot, Lauren Hincks, and Sarah Shanks giving it all they had. In the weeks preceding the big day, the entire firm worked together getting ready for the event – from logistics to costumes and decorations. Our families and friends lent invaluable decoration skills and moral support. The bed itself was built by Todd Schureck, one of Rob’s best friends, as a surprise for Rob. It was truly a firm, family, and friends affair!
And … while not winning the event (clearly needing more training for next year!), we gave our best effort for a good cause, The Arrow Fund, which is dedicated to the heroically humane mission of rescuing abused animals.
As an official Derby Festival event, the Bed Races are great fun during the enthusiastic buzz of Derby Week. Of course, the media was on-hand for coverage, so Team DeCamillis & Mattingly was happy to enjoy the moments with big smiles and our usual great attitudes.
In addition to our competition team pushing and jockeying the bed through tight turns, we all showed up with our families and friends to cheer and jeer with the rest of the fun-loving crowd.
If you haven’t yet attended the Kentucky Derby Festival’s Bed Races as an official Derby Festival event to check off your list, you must! Who can argue with a day full of laughs, squeaky wheels, and suspenseful competition? As a bonus round, it is all for a worthwhile cause!
